Health insurance
Can anyone recommend and good (and cheap!) Health Insurance companies please?
(I've already contacted AXA and Asssa and am awaiting callbacks.)
Many thanks

Re: Health insurance
My advice re health insurance is first find out which companies your local private medical practice deal with by calling in and asking their advice,
otherwise you could find yourselves signed up to a insurance company whose nearest doctor participating in their scheme is miles away.

Adeslas do a good scheme in which you opt to accept a small charge ( Copage ) for consultations , normally about Euro 5,- , thereby reducing the monthly premium. They have a good coverage and from our experience offer excellent service

Hi Loafing Along. I have been attempting to get a quote from Adeslas but it's very difficult with my schoolgirl Spanish! Is it just me? They are very competitive but I think I'll have to go with a more expensive firm due to the language difficulties :-(

That's a shame . Can also contract through their local offices if you are over here

Hi There! Good luck with your quest, you will get there. I don't want to add any stress to your situation BUT, because things are changing all the time as regards registering (and goodness knows, interpretations alter depending on where you are, and even WHO you speak to in the CNP Office) check that the Insurance, IF it includes Co payments, is acceptable. My friend was just sent away for that very reason (he was told that cover with co payments were NOT acceptable) when he went to register!
Having lived here long enough, theres NO WAY I would say that this applies everywhere (if it wasn't so annoying, it would be comical!) as I said, before you get cover, ask in your area if its acceptable. Good luck, as I said, you'll get there!
