Re: Getting more confused
But the problem in Medina Sidonia is that you have limited housing stock and what's available is not really country living? It's basically a village classed as a city and you pay city prices. You really only have flats and old houses that are very pricey (for what it is) and if you want something decent detached with nice garden and pool it gets even more difficult. For that money there are other areas where you are close to coast and can still have country living. Of course it depends what the OP wants but now is not too late to find the best of both worlds.

Just for my two pennies. I wouldn't tell the estate agent you are only testing the market for now. We have been looking and visiting houses for sale in Spain for 2 years. We told them from the off we are interested in buying now. It could well take that long for you to find out the type of house you want. Idealista, Kyero etc are not estate agents. Look at them as compare the market.com . They just list everyone else's listing. If you drill down, it does tell you which estate agent has it on their books. Sometimes 2 agents will advertise the same house at different prices. We are almost at the completion stage on a house I saw advertised on Idealista 2 months' ago. Visited it during hols 2 weeks' later and made an offer a week after we got back. It was a moment of the stars lining up at the right time after a long "research" and viewing period without much taking our fancy. Who knows, you may get lucky and find something quicker than us but like everyone else says, get to know the place first. You will find that there are areas that will not suit you and others that seem like paradise only for the street you like to be the local rat-run for every scooter-riding person at 3am.
Good luck
