Default Flu Jabs (and Covid boosters) 2023

The timetable for flu jabs (and Covid boosters for those who want them, as they will be administered at the same time) is now available in Andalucia. From 9 October for the over 85s and residents of care homes, from 16 October for the over 70s and from 30 October for the over 60s. This year the minimum age for getting the flu jab in the public health system has been lowered to 60.

Timetables may vary in the other autonomous regions.

The COVID jab was showing on the Salude Responde App which I always check around this time of year to make an appointment for Covid and Gripe jab. Strangely since this announcement it's disappeared altogether off the App.

I didn't think they showed up until appointments are available for your age group. I don't see them at the moment on Salud Responde, as I won't be able to make an appointment before 30 October when they become available for over 60s. However, my husband was able to make his appointment yesterday.

There is an announcement at the top of the home page on the Clic Salud website to say that over 70s can now book flu and Covid jabs. It says to choose the option Pedir cita atención primaria.

Up to last few weeks they did show up Lynn but if you clicked on the link it said something along the lines of, you dont meet the criteria. The link has now been removed. Probably they are updating it and it will return so we can make appointments for covid and Gripe. Last year it was November I got mine. I only noticed the change as I start checking the app end of September to see when it opens for appointments.

Before you have yours (?) you may like to view what this extremely qualified person has to say about the booster jabs that “we are all” being encouraged to take (again)

Well that didn't take long did it.

Every vaccine, and indeed every medicine, has the potential to produce side effects but calling for a "urgent stop" to COVID boosters is grossly out of proportion and nothing but reckless scare mongering.

In my original post when starting this thread, I referred to "Covid boosters for those who want them" because I am well aware that some people do not, and I respect their decision and do not seek to persuade them otherwise. I do wish people who don't want them would afford those who do the same courtesy. This was meant to be a thread to give factual information about the dates when flu and Covid booster jabs would be available, not a platform for views in favour or opposed.

I didn't bother with a booster last year as I believed it was a waste of time. I've just spent 10 days with my first bout of Covid. Hindsight....
