hi and welcome to the forum . i am moving to martos to live soon.
love to hear of new people moving to martos.
maybe we can start up a ex-pats society there and meet for drinks and help each other out ans share experiences. we could meet in one of the bars on a weekly basis. anybody agree would like to hear your thoughts everyone is welcome to reply all input is encouraged

hi thanks for the reply yes we must i am not to sure when i go down lots to sort out here with my fathers eatate. hope to be down in may but not to sure at the present. but i am looking to meet other ex-pats and share information

Hi all,

Was suppose to be in my house on the 21st of Feb, but the electric wasn't switched on. My landlords maintenance man, was supposed to do it but now he's done a runner back to morocco. The electric company said they will send an email card? Which we still haven't received.

Our landlord has gone back to the UK for work, but his wife is trying to deal with all of this. We are staying an hours drive from Martos so can't go down there myself as I don't drive.

Does anyone know of any solution to get the electricity put back on ASAP?

has anybody being sent a cadasstral tax bill . was talking to a girl living in martos who bought a house there last year for 22k and the new taxable rate is 55k so she has a tax demand for 2800 . are we all going to get these. was anybody warned about this when looking at theirs are we all to get bills our spanish bank accounts can be frozen if we do bot pay it on time 5-6 weeks from receiving the letter, we as non-resedinces are not able to get our mail so we can not get it on the date intended so we could go there and find our bank account frozen. read this https://www.surveyspain.com/blog/the...anish-property

Hi all, I have also just purchased a property last year and was not told anything about this, I will be picking up all my paperwork next month and will check with my legal person and see if I can get more information. If anyone else knows it would be great to get that information though? Hope we don't have to pay this.

Hi I've been looking to buy a property in Martos or the surrounding area for a while now and in relation to the queries regarding the huge tax bill mentioned in a post from wicklowjack I think it may be what some refer to as the bargain hunters tax. From what I can gather people receive this tax bill usually a year after completion on properties which the Spanish tax office deem have been sold well below their actual value, it's a theory anyway.

Hi all, we have been told of a lake about 5k from Martos think its called la carasca ?where we can swim, fish, picnic , park car etc. can anyone tell us exactly where this is and give any info regarding? Links or pictures ? Thanks in advance
