Best place to buy white goods.
Hi,
Where is the best place to buy an under counter freezer here in Spain?
I've looked in a few places but they seem to be very expensive here on Costa blanca.
Thanks in advance.

You don't say where you are on the Costa Blanca so difficult to be specific but the rule of thumb is: if it has a plug avoid Carrefour.

I usually buy my white goods from Tien 21 because they have a shop in my town, they deliver immediately and their after sales service is great. Saying that the people who run it live in my small town so maybe they are not really representative of the company in general.

I recently purchased a fridge/freezer from Pineda's Ondara branch. I visited the shop and then had a look round other stores. In the end rang them up and they delivered the next day taking payment when unpacked etc.
Excellent service.

I have also found local shops reasonably competitive, offering good service if the goods are in stock.

I do not think chest freezers are very popular here maybe that is why they are expensive. I think Cortes Ingles is always worth a look, I bought a new TV yesterday on a special promo - 'Sin IVA' and great service.

Usually the best place to buy all your domestic appliances is from one of the loacal/national chains as they are in a buyers club and therefore all their sales are that much cheaper. You also get, as Rosemary says, great service with delivery and after sales if you use someone local.
Tien21, Redder, Euronics, or in our case a local department store, Hmos Garcias, are all good starting points to check out prices.
I usually find in Spain that local is best.
PS, I donĀ“t think that an under the counter chest freezer will work very well

Most of my better movies, computer programs and tobacco has come from under the counter I cannot think where it would be cheaper. After sales service can be problematic though.

I don't live that area, I have found that buying from our local shop has been great. We went with the spec of washing machine we wanted and they ordered it in, delivered it, fitted it and took the old one away. The were horrified when it had a fault which we reported the day before Christmas. They fixed it Christmas day at their insistence. I went on to buy a tall fridge and TV from them. All with the same service and less expensive than in Sevilla.
