I am coming to Alicante on 27th of April, I'll be staying in Moraira and I need to travel around possible destinations Benitachell, Benissa, Oliva, Calpe, Javea, Denia. I will know for sure closer to 27th. I would like to hire someone to take me there in the morning and take me back in the evening. One town a day. If anybody interested or know someone who might be interested please let me know.

Please note that if you do this, and the person is not registered as a taxi service, then you, and he, will be breaking the law, and you will risk, if stopped by the police and found out, being left by the roadside while the car is impounded. Why not take the easy, legal route and hire a car?

I suppose it is not illegal if the person is a taxi driver. In UK there is a black cabs which will cost you fortune and there are lots of private taxis that cost fraction of the black cabs price and they usually fixed price if you ring in advance, I hoped I could find something like this in Spain, but I only can fined "black cabs" online. Does the private taxis exist?

Why not drive yourself?
Unless the car is licensed as a taxi, then the person driving it and receiving any sort of payment would be acting illegally.

I've been thinking about it, how busy are the roads around there and other thing that worries me that I need to remember to drive on the right...took me 2 years to use to drive on the left side of the road, now had to go back to right not sure how my head will cope with this, was going to take it slowly once we moved

Possibly a grey area, as you would be being paid for doing the driving, now if they paid for a slap up meal, that would be different as it's nothing to do with the car. BE isn't supposed to suggest people do anything illegal, and I was just pointing out the possible pitfalls. 99% of the time nothong would happen, but would you want to be one of the 1%, and all the costs involved to the driver? It would only need one 'friend' who might be a legal taxi driver to report it to the police..

I only will be there for 4 days, nobody will even notice Could someone kindly agree to show me around and I'll contribute to the petrol cost and dinner?

Check out Blablacar.es

6 Euros ish from the airport to the Moraira area. Mostly Spanish people though, so you'd have to see if they speak English first. You might find people who can do the other trips.

I know a few people who use this a lot to get from the airport. Works great!
