Slovenia Bureaucracy (Living not Working)

Hi Everybody,

I have read most of the posts below and have a few questions unique to my situation which I will now explain...

I fell in love with Slovenia a couple of years ago and have spent 4 weeks there holidaying for each of the last 2 years and would now like to visit longer for 6 months per year. (April-October)

I would not work in Slovenia as I am self employed in the UK where all my work is in the winter hence me travelling back for 6 months.

Now as a schengen member I believe I can visit for 3 months by just registering with the local police when I arrive but I want to stay for longer.

I intend to rent a property for 6 months in the 1st year (with a view to maybe buying property or land if I like it long term.)

So what do i need to know? Can anyone see any problems with my plan? My main concern is not paying tax in Slovenia as my work is in England plus I have concerns about any other bureaucracy that seems to be referred to a lot in other posts on here.

Kind Regards

Jamie

Have you considered the effects of Brexit? You will be limited to 90 days in and 90 days out of the Schenghan area.

Very much so, one of the reasons for wanting to leave this < snipped > country.
It won't affect my income but I am looking for work arounds to staying longer than 90 days in a shengen state on an EU passport hence the post.

Do you have any info on Slovenian red tape for me?

Remember that Slovenia is a successor state to the Habsburg Monarchy (ie Austro-Hungary) Learn from the Good Soldier Schweik about how to cope,

most of the answers can be found on UE websites. As an EU citizen you do not need any special documents and it will not change for the next coming year or so, even after Brexit. as said, Upravna enota provides more info
