Some general questions
Can you help with some information and pointers?
A friend is looking to move back to Singapore (she is aSingaporean), She intends to place her two kids in Marlbourgh college inMalaysia while she works for her American company (from home). Her parents arevery ill (one terminally) hence the move.
Relative school costs (she knows the fees but what othersurprises should she watch out for, hoping other parents from Marlbourgh canshare their knowledge). They will arrive in December 2016.
Car costs (she will purchase a Golf for herself, and herpartner is a public transport enthusiat)
Maid costs? She is looking for a range in which if she paysat upper range she will get reliable, good maid. She is thinking of one forgeneral house cleaning and helping with chores, while the other is more like abig sister / au pair for the children, with hopefully additional skills such asyoga, swimming, tennis etc to keep the children active. She works long hoursbut will also be caring as much as possible for her parents.
While on good incomes they are big savers, and watch wherethey are spending. The car is the one extravgance she is aware of the cost butwill not budge.
She is on around $300k USD with her partner $560k USD (alsomaintaining his ability to work for his American company by setting up anoffice in Singapore). Any sites to show net income from this? His company isdealing with the working visa – although be interesting what the process is forhim to gain full PR?
They also have a considerable deposit fromproceeds from the sale of their house in America and her initial contributionsto the CPF fund earlier in her career. Being cost of property in Singapore issupposedly very expensive is $10m to $12m worth spending?
