Hi I need your help, I am a 24 year old girl who moved here a month ago from London and while I love it and have a job in advertising and a place to live etc etc there is a massive hole missing at 6pm on a friday night / most nights when I am dying for a drink and some fun.

If anyone has any advice about how to make friends here please let me know...

- can't believe I have actually posted a link asking for friends... this is definitely something I shall be keeping from my mates in London!

Hi I've been here for almost 6mths and the best place to meet foreigners and locals is through Singporeexpats.com the forum has loads of meetups for all interests.

Yep that's definitely the best site for the younger expat. You could also get involved in groups like Britcham (British Chamber of Commerce) and maybe the dragonboating teams, if that's your thing. I can put you in touch with people involved in both of those if you like.

Hi I used to actually play hockey quite alot but i haven't for years, i would love to come and see the team however if you are all very good then you may not want me bringing the standard down! when do you train?

the team is a real mixture. my wife played for them this season and she had never picked up a hockey stick in her life until 6 months ago.
