Nursing Conference in Vancouver 26th - 29th May 2013
#1
I will be in Vancouver next week for a nursing conference, (CONA- Canadian Orthopaedic Nursing Association).
Stopping at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel.
Are any nurses on here attending also?
Can anyone suggest restuarants around there, not too expensive- the conference cost me a fortune!!!!
I am hoping to do a bit of sightseeing, I will be there for a week with the conference on all day Sunday to Wednesday.
Thanks in advance
MJ

Well, there is a food court right beside the hotel for the really cheap stuff. If you don't mind walking a few blocks south there are a number of moderately priced restauants on Robson. A lot of ethnic food. Many more on Denman whcih is a 15-20 minute walk. A bit hipper and a bit pricier on Water Street to the east. More typically Canadian / Western bar food.

Thank you for the info. I don't mind the walk so will probably do the restuarants rather than the food courts.
Kind regards

You could try Cadero's. In comparison to a lot of similar places in Vancouver its not bad and its near the water. It can be a bit noisy.

Mahoney's is also good and that's right on the Waterfront next to the conference center. There's lots of nice places in Gastown too which is about a 10 minute walk away; Six Acres and Irish Heather do good food too.

I suspect she'll like Vancouver. I'd recommend you walk some of the seawall in Stanley Park, visit Granville Island market and if you have the time, I'd go up Grouse Mountain, I think its worth the visit, especially on a sunny day. And it's sunny today.

No street view, at least we are on google maps, even if it does only show the outline of our house before it was built
The conference organisers have some discounted rates on the Grouse mountain ride and some others. I will definately be taking advantage of the touristy things.
To walk part of the sea wall and Stanley park are definately on my agenda.
Maybe I will forget to go to the conference
