Just wanted to thank everyone about my trip to Melbourne. I have my visa and ticket sorted and now sorting out the tourist stuff and the more important reci stuff for my family. Now just got plan how I'm going to get from the airport to Berwick quickest way for me with jet lag or should I just get a hotel room and crash for a day?

Quickest way to Berwick from the airport would be either taxi or car hire - taxi would be expensive, car hire probably expensive. Alternative would be airport bus that stops at Southern Cross station, then train to Berwick (I think you would need to buy a Myki card and top it up to use the train).

Depending on what day you're coming, there's a bus from the airport to Berwick x

Thanks I know once I get there and get to friends house I will be ok. Logistics stress me out in a new country. I'm hopeing it will be relatively easy. Thank you again. Quick q though are the organised tours any good.

I think I'm looking forward to seeing if the ideas I have about here match up with reality. Will be looking at suburbs nearer than Berwick as this is what hubby has asked for. But it would be nice to be near my friend if we moved. I was looking at the other thread about Melbourne, very helpful. So excited. Hubby's visiting later as we have no family to look after kids. I guess we won't have those ties to hold us back.

I haven't any idea about organized tours except the winery one is good. The free red bus for tourists is great for looking around but can get packed catch it at the back of harbour town it's usually quieter there. The bus loop is bigger than the tram loop.
