Does anyone know where I can buy puy lentils in Tavira? I am tried the Grand Plaza and Pingos but no luck.

I get mine in France when passing through. That's not much help, I know!

Lentils don't figure much in Portuguese cuisine - I've never seen a lentil dish in a restaurant anywhere. Cross over to Spain and excellent brown lentils are everywhere. But not Puy, as far as I know.

You can get red split lentils from continente in gran plaza, i saw them last week ... its the bit near the soya milks, then look back to the right, they have quinoa, quinoa spahetti, lentils, whole foods, etc.

Try the health food shop on the edge of the market building - there are cafes and shops on the outside of two of the walls, it's on the one facing the big bridge. Not sure about puy but they definitely have red ones as we've bought some in there.
