Big fire in JLT
Nothing on the news, but people are posting pictures on FB. I think it is Tamweel that is on fire, on the north side of JLT. Looks really bad 
. Hope nobody was killed or injured. I didn't think concrete could burn, so not sure how it is managing to spread.

Lot of places here have aluminium external balconies etc. (against UK fire regulations) which burn well and there are a lot of conduits to spread it. Over the news like a rash now, whole building appears to be damaged.

looks really quite bad. Hope everyone accounted for. I can see the SZR side of the building and only top looks damaged, but looks like it is the far side with bad damage...

News is reporting no casualties, thank the gods and what a miracle that everyone responded to the alarm, so often ours goes off and no one bats an eye lid

Quite shocking to see the state of the building though, definitely rethinking my move to JLT or certainly thinking a lower floor at this point, although I suppose it could have happened anywhere. We'll probably never find out what really happened
