Default Canadian citizen returning to Canada

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone who's gone through the spousal sponsorship having lived in the UK for a long time can give me an idea of what sorts evidence they provided for "intent to reestablish"? We fit "other" on the form, and just don't know what to send. Am worried it'll all be too vague although we have every serious intention of going, and have our recce this October!

Cheers!

My wife wrote a very short letter saying something like:

Once sponsorship has been successful, we will re-establish ourselves by gaining employment, securing housing, opening bank accounts, etc.

It worked and there's not much else you can do, unless you're the type to buy property or interview for jobs before anything has been confirmed.

Good stuff. Yes just include details of your upcoming trip and how it relates to re-establishing yourself.

It's nothing to worry about.

Enjoy.

I wrote something very similar, and also included email correspondence I have already had with the schools and an estate agent as well. I have heard of people including estimates from removal companies too.

We've only just sent our application so it's good to know that just including a short letter was successful! I wondered if they seriously thought we would actually buy a house or accept a job prior to COPR being received!

Hi there. Good luck with your app. It will only be a matter of time, remember, you ARE a citizen. It would take a lot to keep you and your spouse out!

My OH and I sent the print out from the estate agent of our house here in the UK on the market. I also sent a letter from my mum stating that she'd let us live in her home for a few months after we 'landed'.

Write a letter detailing your circumstances and plans. Ultimately, you'll have the financial responsibility for your spouse and they just want to know that you have a 'plan'....

Thank you both

@newfie; yes I was looking at that tick list thinking "can't tick that, or that, or that..."! so it's good to know a letter and emails etc should suffice. Hope to be submitting within the fortnight, so shouldn't be too far behind you!

We just had our application approved and I just wrote on the form that we intended to go back to live near family. I think i added in an email from a company that supported that i was looking for a job.
