Can anybody recommend any good books one can buy on Amazon to do with buying a property in Spain, particularly highlighting the current economic climate and the bursting of the property bubble and giving legal advice and tips on buying property and what to look for in a property and locations in spain to avoid buying property and the best areas in spain to buy property, thankyou.

You're going to write a book. Good luck with that!

Strapline - "10 things you ought to know before buying a property in Spain"
Wonder if "learn Spanish" will come into the equation?

By their very nature a book is out of of date as soon as it is published. Regulations change quickly and so does the demise and rise of particular areas. There is no substitute for getting of your asre and having a good look around and talking to locals (Spanish and expats)in the areas you are interested in. One of the great benefits of BE is that you have people in the thick of it,perfectly able to comment on the current situation who give their advice freely and in most cases without axe to grind. A lot of what you need to know can be found here.

moderated to ensure everyone follows the rules - of course it is

stuboy is right - by the time a book is written about anything involving legalities in Spain, it is out of date
& if you're talking about areas to live - the only way to find out if they suit YOU is to visit them - again & again & at different times of year

As for people talking up their area...yes, it happens but there is always someone around to give another view, and they don't get censored.

Because surely the advice about mortgages and all that will be irrelevant.
As for tips on what to look for in a propery, in your case, I would settle for it having a roof.
The most difficult part of your property owning journey will be finding the 20k place, that will be in a place that you will actually want to live/invest in.

As you only wish to spend 20k on the property, do you really need a book?
