Hello fellow expats,
I am seeking advice on gaining entry to work in aus through the 457 shortage visa. I have used both working holiday visas, and as a recent BA and MA graduate I am now looking for a more permanent move.
I am curious to know if anyone can tell me if one can gain entry on a 457 visa with a position that is at graduate entry level without experience?
Similarly my girlfriend has a business sponsorship to go out and work on that, I am led to believe without having lived in the same residence for 12 months one would have to go on an independent visa. If any one knows otherwise, the advice would be much appreciated.

You dont need experience. But you would require a company to sponsor you and the likelyhood of that would depend on what it is you are going to be working as

You do not have to be living under the same roof for 12 months, but you do have to prove you were in an exclusive and ongoing relationship. In some countries living together is just not done!
Harder to prove in a country where it is normal. You would need some shared life stuff. A joint bank account, named drivers on each others car, wills in each others favour, shared major purchases etc. Just being boyfriend and girlfriend isn't really enough.
