Hi, I've recently completed a TRA migration skills assessment as "chef".
I'm a bit worried as I don't have an equivilant to cert 4 in commercial cookery. I have Higher national diploma in food and hospitality management, as well as 4/5 years documented experience with detailed employer statements. Fair evidence as far as payslips etc, and think I covered work in my own words.
In your opinions will the qualification substitute a practical cooking qualification?
Many thanks in advance.

I'm confused. You completed it or not?

Yes I've completed it and lodged it. Now I'm worried that the qualification might not be relevant.

What's the point in worry if you do not have any control over it? It is out of your hands, you will get the result sooner or later, then you may have a reason to worry.

It's just the wait thats killing me. Time is going to very scarce in between the time a decision is made and July 1st changes. Therefore I want to give myself the best possible chance. I'll stop being a control freak if I get PR.

I've put it into the hands of a migration agent now.

What additional information can an agent submit that you couldn't if asked?
Besides, TRA won't likely ask for more information. If you didn't provide what they need they will reject the application and you'll have to apply again. Like I said...You should have contacted an agent before you submitted the application.

Has anyone else submitted extra information to TRA while the application is already in the queue?

I'm fairly sure that if its possible for an agent to submit extra info its equally possible for the applicant to do so.

EDIT: sorry I misread your post. Yes, I'm sure its possible for me to submit extra information. But I would like an agent who is experienced to prepare my case and therefore give me the best possible chance.
