Default BE Expats- Toronto Branch Meet Up- October?

Yesterday while I was waiting at the back of a very long que at Toronto Pearson Airport returning from Bergerac (my annual shot of culture) I ran into none other than Leslieville's LondonMike.

Anyway it got me thinking that we have not had an official Expats meet up of the wider community in Toronto for a while (largely due to vacations etc...) .

Therefore I am proposing we meet up some time in October downtown for some pints & soft drinks.

How does Friday October 7th sit for people?

I do not want to get into the painful position of having to do my first poll.

We can then thrash out a venue. I am not particularly picky. I know Scotland Yard has worked well in the past, whilst I can't remember if they do Sweet Potato fries it is a reasonable establishment.

Obviously it would be in need to be a sensible distance to Union Station.

An excellent notion. Count me (at least provisionally) in. By then I'll be suitably insane again.

It was darn fine to see you Sir, and all the more pleasurable to hear the footie score from you too. The FF team is looking in reasonable shape.

I'm up for this. Count me in!

It has been pointed out that it is Thanks Giving weekend to me. A holiday I am still not too familiar with but would that make it difficult for people to attend?

Is the 14th better for everybody? Still work for you Mike and Novo? If not we can keep the same date.

Can I come, please ?
I may or may not have a car by then but I think I can get to Union station downtown from Bramalea.
I am feeling very homesick and depressed right now and would like to meet other expats who are happy here which may help my morale.

James, the 14th is fine as well and has the advantage that that nice Mr. Martin can come (that's a pint you owe me sir).

14th is much more suitable. Previous weekend rolls Thanksgiving together with middle child's birthday - I probably wouldn't get a late pass for that one.

And the Yard is undoubtedly v convenient for those of us suburbanites who will need to scoot back to Union for the GO train (take note, others from the outer reaches of the Lakeshore line - I could do with some moral support against all these urban sophisticates....)

Count me in.
