State Sponsorship
Hi Everyone,
I've applied for Victoria State Sponsorship and got the following text from Victoria state
"We are currently processing your application and need you to confirm the amount of financial resources you have available to assist your migration; including all of your assets (in Australian dollars). We request that you provide one figure that is inclusive of all your assets.
We do not indicate the funds required to make a successful application. It your responsibility to research the cost of living in Victoria, and to provide a true and accurate reflection of the funds you have available for migration. We do not require evidence of the resources available"
Can anybody help me about appropriate financial resources requirements. I have Gold and House with my name. I am sure for house but can I include Gold as my financial Asset?
Next question is in Lahore Pakistan where I bought the property, the value of property per Marla is 50K rupees in documents and registry while in reality we pay around 250-300K rupees. Now can I mention the correct value that I have given to buy property? If so then how can I give them proof? As a proof I can show registry but registry shows 50K per Marla.
Third I have build house on that land. Can I show the house building cost as Asset. I think the net value of that house is the correct Asset value including land cost and building cost.

You can show Gold as the Financial asset.

Instead of showing registry as the evidence, get an assessment done on the house by authorised assessor and they will give a report based on current market value which could be even more than 500K.
Third I have build house on that land. Can I show the house building cost as Asset. I think the net value of that house is the correct Asset value including land cost and building cost.
Include your land and house while doing the assessment. You may contact the assessor to get a better understanding .
These answers are based on my experience. Good luck on your visa application.

Thanx a lot Gypsy for quick reply.
Armandra, I've applied Vic SS before they have excluded some occupations from the list. I think the date was 4th Jan 2011. And yes I have got ref. # in the format you mentioned.

Re: Victoria SMP
Dear Mr. Gypsy,
1st, How much funds I need to show to get sponsorship successfully? I will include my wife and my few months baby with my visa application.
2nd, If I show GOLD as my financial asset then how can I give them proof which they must accept and not consider it fake because I've GOLD.
3rd, can I show property of my father as my asset because he is supporting me. If my father sign the authority letter that "I am supporting to my son and consider all my property as my son's property" then will it make sense for CO or they will refuse it?
and last, from which authorized authority I must access the current market value of the property? The authority which CO will accept?

Dear Mr. Gypsy,
1st, How much funds I need to show to get sponsorship successfully? I will include my wife and my few months baby with my visa application.
I showed 20,000 Dollars + 5000$ for each dependant applicant, Things might have changed now, please read the Victoria Sponsorship eligibility conditions in detail
2nd, If I show GOLD as my financial asset then how can I give them proof which they must accept and not consider it fake because I've GOLD.
You have to get the report from Authorized ' Asset / Property Assessor' - Normally they do assess the value of assets for Banking purpose. Not sure how do you call them in Pakistan. You may enquire and get the details
3rd, can I show property of my father as my asset because he is supporting me. If my father sign the authority letter that "I am supporting to my son and consider all my property as my son's property" then will it make sense for CO or they will refuse it?
No you cannot show your father's asset. If he settles the property to your name legally, it may be possible..

After a 20 Weeks long wait i got refusal
Thank you for your client’s application for Victorian Government sponsorship under the 176 - Sponsored visa scheme.
Following a review of the information you have provided to the Skilled and Business Migration Program, we regret to inform you that the Victorian Government is not in a position to sponsor your client under the 176 - Sponsored visa scheme.
Under the Victorian Government’s program, sponsorship is offered to skilled migrants whose skills and experience are in high demand in the Victorian labour market at the time of assessment. High demand may mean those skilled migrants whose skill sets are hard to come by or are rare and unusual.
During the assessment process the Victorian Government consults with industry representatives in Victoria to determine the demand for an applicant’s qualifications, skills and experience, and whether they have high prospects for employment in their field.
All decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
While your client’s occupation meets the eligibility criteria to be considered for state sponsorship, there is not sufficiently high demand for their skills and experience to offer sponsorship at this time.
Note that we would be happy to re-assess your client’s application should they be able to obtain a valid offer of employment in their nominated occupation within Victoria, while their occupation remains eligible to be considered for Victorian Government sponsorship.
Please quote Reference Number : SS-2010-0XXX in all of your communication to us.
Kind regards,

You're not the first and you won't be the last. Regardless of your skills and your application, a visa is never a foregone conclusion and way too many people don't realise that. The letter perfectly explains the situation.
Bad luck, but if, as it says, you find someone who'll employ you they will re-assess the situation, so it's not a definite no.

its better not to waste further time and efforts on this, you might as well utilize the efforts on checking if you have other states which you can apply/ other options..
