Awesome! Congratulations
We're 33 weeks. It's going to be an experience!!
From what we've read they look after you better here - 2 days in hospital instead of 2 hours!!

(this was 2 weeks ago in Manchester) no idea what to do or how to breastfeed etc! Thank god for friends who had little ones helping her out.....she was terrified....but both mum and daugther (and dad) are doing great now. The care during the labour was excellent it's just the aftercare that left much to be desired!Sis in law had a great experience in Welly with me neice (well as great as giving birth can be I guess
) - very best of luck to you both you must be so excited. And they look so cute with their NZ passports.....

Well after our appointment yesterday it looks like we might only be 4 weeks away as they will most likely decide to induce in early September
We visited the Wellington hospital birthing suites yesterday too. Really well equipped, big rooms with enquites, showers, baths, all sorts. And nice big bars on the wall to hang onto if you feel the need !!!

We've been on a really good ante natal class. We went for the 7 week one that you pay for rather than the 4 week free one . Really glad we did as it was all 30-something couples rather than teenagers and from what we've heard it covered a lot more stuff that you really do want to know. It also includes a baby and you course for after the birth for mum and you can do other stuff - like a baby CPR class for $5 which I will be doing I think.
We're also booked for two breastfeeding classes at Keneperu hospital (you take a teddy bear to practice with). Apparently it makes a huge difference to mum's confidence and skill when starting to breastfeed.
So much to learn! So much stuff you never knew (or wanted to know) before getting into this.
We have another scan on Monday and I'm really looking forward to seeing our little girl again!

Mine had my case packed and in the boot of the car 2 months before final birth.
I had to be careful when watching TV that I didn't 'pull a face'.

He had me in the car and down to the maternity unit on two false alarms!

When I did finally go into labour proper, he had all on convincing them over the phone, before they would allow him to bring me in!
From my daughter-in-laws experience Wellington hospital deliveries are great.
My son could not get over how, after his firstborn arrived, he was finding parcels on the doorstep and folk, he'd never met, were bringing round complete meals for them.
Hey ' all of us' who have whinged about -cost of living/taxes etc.
money can't buy the Kiwi attitude and support network I've experienced.
I wish you love and all that you need for a wonderful experience!
