A question from the Visitor Visa Application Form (IMM 5257)
Hi,
My mother is going to visit me in Canada from China. I am wondering if anyone could
tell me what should I say in the item 7. I am not sure what they are asking about in
this item.
Item 7: a) Immigration status of applicants in country where applying
b) Valiad until Date Month Year
My mother is a chinese herself and has never applied for immigration to Canada
before. Then, what should I say here?
Also I am not sure about the item 12:
Item 12: Funds available for my stay in Canada.
Of course I will pay all her expense in Canada, but what is the reasonable amount
for around 5 months' visiting in Ontario? Do I need to provide any document to
proof this?
Your kindly help will be appreciated very much.
Tracy

Re: A question from the Visitor Visa Application Form (IMM 5257)
In item 7 just put N/A, as it is only for those who are applying for Canadian visitor
visa through the visa post outside their home country.
As for funds - you should provide your mother with your tax return and most recent
bank statements to demonstrate that you can afford to pay all her expenses here.
