Has anyone lived in or near Chambery? Any opinions, advice, hints or tips on general life in this town would be appreciated.
We would be looking to rent a house, if possible. What areas should we be looking in or avoiding, and why?
Thanks!

Hi! I spent 3 months there at the Univ de Savoie (Jacob Bellecombette sp..?) on my Erasmus exchange.
An awesome place but can be boring. Lac du Bourget is really nice. Many Eramus students there so you can make a lot of friends with them. They always used to hang out at Charleys pub if it's still there (ave de la republique??). Not been there for a couple f years now but I have very fond memories.
Have you been on www.couchsurfing.org? You can arrange to meet people via that. Is a great site and could be helpful.
Have fun!

Given half a chance i know that she would return in the blink of an eye. one thing i recall was hoe nice the people were, but i was a visitor from a UK city, so maybe i was blinkered.
The local lakes and huge outdoor pool were also a great treat. it gets a

has anyone got some idea on good rental companies covering the Chambery area? Or better still a relocation agency who can help us find somewhere to settle down and help with the general set up in a new country?
