Hi,
I will be moving to the Algarve in March for at least 6 months and I was wondering which is the best mobile phone operator to choose for 3G (or HSPA, call it what you like) on you mobile phone.
I'm Belgian, so I have an unlocked phone.
What I want is a Portugese prepaid card to make phone calls and send text messages and a 3G data connection to check emails and browse the web on my HTC.
And maybe use the HTC as modem for my laptop.
So, the amount of data would need to be sufficient (250mb).
Since I'm only there for 6 months, I don't want a contract. I would like to be able to charge it when I want to. Just like you would with a prepaid card to make calls.
I'm near Vila Real de Santo Antonio up in the hills.
So, Any ideas?

I'm in Tavira so can't vouch for the 3G signal in VRSA but I use prepay TMN and have unlimited 3G internet for 5 euros per month. I think it is subject to a fair use policy so am not sure how many MB that is.

We're in the hills between Tavira and VRSA and I get a strong HSDPA signal through Vodafone. I think it's because we're not too far from a golf course and they've got a new mast to cater for their 5 star guests, so can't vouch for your location. TMN near us is lousy, strangely. Why don't you visit the Vodafone shop or look online at vodafone.pt? JJ
