Default Skilled migration shake-up

Dear friend,
This is latest article from The Age....

"The changes, due to be announced by Immigration Minister Chris Evans on Monday, will include amendments to the ''migration occupations in demand'' list, which sets out areas where skilled workers are needed and awards ''points'' to migrants applying to work in these areas.

The changes, which are aimed at meeting the country's long-term skill needs, are being heralded as ''significant policy reforms'' by Immigration Department secretary Andrew Metcalfe."

Thanks
Ritu

Thanks Ritu - well at least if it's on Monday as they say, a lot of us in nail-biting situations will know one way or the other where we stand!

cheers

Oh boy...

Is this cause for worry for those who've already applied and whose occupation is currently on the MODL/ CSL list? Or would these changes only apply to those applications made after Monday? It wouldn't be fair if they removed our occupation from the CSL if we've already sent in an application based on the previous rulings would it?

This is pretty worrysome...

Nobody knows. No point asking. Forget about it, enjoy the weekend and see what next week brings.

Hi brother,

it seems your got visa grant just 2 weeks after getting co assigned.
May I know when you undergo medical check ?
Also, for those applicants who have already got co assigned, will
they be influenced by new MODL ?

Thanks.

Juan

Hi Ritu,
Since your application has been assigned a CO, will this MODL change affect your priority of visa processing ? Please let me know your comment. Thanks

Juan

Thanks

Hi,
We did our meds about 3 weeks before we got a c.o.

I don't know how the new rules will be applied, sorry!

Mike

I see no point in speculating about what might happen in 2 days' time. When an official announcement has been made it will be posted here.
