Breaking news from Goan Voice and Indian news networks.A nine year old Russian girl was raped by a person named Aman in Arambol this morning while she was paddling in the sea near her mother.The police have thrown a 3 kilometre cordon around Arambol looking for the man.

This is disgusting. It is shocking how young children are at constant risk in Goa today. Parents on holiday, have to be even more vigilant with the surge in predator activity in Goa as are the locals. Officials will never admit it of course.

Absolutely sick! I am the mother of three young children and on the beach I always closely supervise them, but then it takes only a second....

On Baga beach my youngest (2 years) was picked up (held) by an Indian tourist while his friend took a photo. I raced from where I was and told him to delete the picture and if he touches my kids again I will punch him in the face. He ran from there, but it could have been so much worse as this case has proved.

There are sickos in every society - and parents need to constantly be on their guard against them. Remember it only takes a second. Do not let your guard drop!

It has been a problem in Goa for years, absolutely disgusting :curse: In 1999 on my first visit there were usually people handing out leaflets down the flea market warning tourists of such sick and twisted people.
Lets hope the Russians kick up a big fuss and get the Police actually doing something other than sod all or taking baksheesh.

Are we talking of full blown rape - it's just the Indian press seem to include "outraging the modesty" as rape - which I presume means "touching up".

Whichever way it is there are some sad excuses for human beings out there!

This is appalling,what is happening in Goa these days.I hope they get these sick people.It makes me very sad to think what this poor child went through and what she will continue to go through probably the rest of her life.

I was at the beach on tuesday and a little indian boy around 3 years old was crying mama walking up the beach, wondering whether to approach him i got one of the shack boys to try and talk to him he continued walking up the beach and we keep an eye out for him atleast 6 shacks later a man came running up the beach shouting for the boy it had taken him at least 10mins to notice his child was missing, and when we watched him walk back he as atleast 15 shacks away from where they had found him. god knows he could have drown in that time or been abducted.
When my grandkids were here they were never out of my sight and never will be.
Times have changed here I would walk from calangute to arpora with not a worry day or night not now.
Last week a lady had her handbag snatched on the small bridge near Mojo's by a guy on a motorbike, dragged to the floor at 10am .... be very careful everyone

they have named the guys involved in this horrific crime but the police have yet to catch them!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting - even the Russians will be leaving Goa, and it takes the police 36 hours to get to where this guy worked!!! Now he has absconded - why have a police force? Should have left it to the villagers, they would have sorted it quicker.

Look at them (politicians) how they are using this event to set their quarrels and rivalries.
