Those familiar with Africa will know that this kind of thing has long gone on. It is seldom reported in the West, unless it happens in, say, London, as it did not so long ago with a young African child.

More reported here, lately, is Uganda's plan to imprison and execute gays and lesbians, apparently a hugely popular move there. So Uganda may not be your first choice for a visit or for emigration if you happen to be gay, lesbian or indeed even a bit "bi".

Its a rather apathetic response really to what is a serious african problem- I guess it must be ok as its part of the african culture- totally forgivable and probably the fault of 'the white man' eh JR?.

The rest of the world has done Africa no favours by winking at corruption and barbarism.

Expecting, or tolerating, a lower standard from a man merely because of the colour of his skin seems to me to be the very worst kind of racism.
