Taking car to Netherlands?

Taking car to Netherlands?
I have just bought a vw camper van and I will be moving to the Netherlands, what issues will I come across? I will be there to do a Phd at a University for 4 years. Can I insure it in the UK or will I have to register it there? And any other general tips? Thanks
