Does this include both the telephone & internet costs as it is rather expensive if it's just for the internet? Is there a cheaper way to connect to the internet?

Here is telefonica's web site......

http://www.telefonica.es/particulares.shtml

If you also do a search on this forum you will see there are plenty of views on what is best and what is not.

telefonica has this offer on at the moment.
dúo 1Mb ADSL + llamadas nacionales Alta de ADSL GRATIS
2 mes GRATIS
Cuota final: 29,90 €/mes

So 1 mb adsl and all phone calls in Spain, conection free. first 2 months free. Doubt it includes a router. It would be plus iva ie about €33 a month

Does that include the line rental? Many people are paying Telefonica up to 70€/month for both.

I changed to Ya.com last year. I still pay 21.75€/month to Telefonica for line rental and 40.42€/month to Ya for ADSL/free national calls. Prices inc. IVA.

No, the line rental is on top of the ADSL charges. 70€ a month is about right.

There are some deals all in, I see some in Cities with TV ADSL and Phone for 30€, ono (cable).

On a second point, some of the free routers given away are absolute cack, I sell quite a few laptops now in spain to ex pats and the spanish and Im starting to get a few moaners like I do with the people in the Uk with the talk talk and orange routers - that there is some problems reception wise,

Ive overcome this by changing the WIFI Cards on all export laptops, but I would advise to buy your own router seperate, they are not expensive and will have better performance.

Any router that has its own ariel to screw in / unscrew to update range etc is a good start

It's not easy to understand as the one about internet (telefonica) is not in English. Don't they have an English version in their site?

Also some of the link in the FREE BEER, is not working like "British Embassy NIE aplication" - that link gives a "404 NOT FOUND" error.

Sorry, but I have no control over the British Embassy site, I can`t even find it so it looks like they may of discontinued it, I will remove it til I find it again if it is available.
