One of our more famous counterparts, Scottish born Lawrence Tynes, kicked a 47 yard field goal to send the New York Giants into the Superbowl against undefeated New England Patriots and silence a frozen Lambeau Field.
In temperatures around -20C and wind chills ten below that, Tynes missed two chances to win the game in the second half with 37 and 38 yard field goal attempts missing, the second one as time expired. However after an interception stole Packers' chance of capitalising on winning the overtime coin toss, Tines remembered how to kick the funny-shaped ball again and this time sent it between the uprights. ![]() ![]() (From two highly elated anti-Pack Lions fans in Michigan) As for the final it would be good to see Pats go undefeated, but it would be nice to see Eli do what big bruv did last year. Just don't do as many commercials as he did, OK Eli? Maybe now he's in the superbowl the SSN presenters will get his name right. It's ee-lie, not elly. |
