Agent acknowledged but went to my daughter for more evidence of settling in Australia as she wont have been there for 2 years until Jan 08 but she has sold her house here and is settled in OZ, she sent back all the information on Monday so hope that is all they require

Well done making a new thread and trawling through the old one.

Here is a little bit of good news - I casually looked at my emails this morning not expecting anything special and there was the letter from my Case Officer saying my visa had been granted!

As you know, I applied in June 2006 so it has been about 14 months from start to finish.

Just need to get it evidenced now - can hardly believe it's finally happened.

Well done for new thread,it will certainly be easier.My daughter went to Centrelink on 7/08 for AOS interview.At end of interview she was told to wait 10 minutes and he would type up letter for bond.This he did and she deposited cheque next day at Commonwealth Bank.I am now like many others stuck in backlog at LCU Sydney

Sleeping Beauty you are a star.

Well we got our Visa in May and our house has been on the market, tomorrow our buyers should be signing their contract and we will then sign ours. Hope to have the shippers in and flight booked in the next two weeks, off to South Africa for a couple of weeks first. Will keep you posted. Congratulations Sapphire3.

It seems that there are mixed messages with regards to how long the children have to be in Australia before parents can apply.. Can anyone assist? Do I to have lived in Australia for 2 years before my parents can apply? If so is there any other way of getting to Australia and then applying for the contributory parents visa as it would take 3 years before they could come over..

Help would be appreciated.

Congratulations, Sapphire 3, cant wait for the day we check more emails and find that message, how great? and good luck with the move deci.

darrenps, when we were in Perth in Jan '007, we rang the Perth Immigration office to see if our son could use the time he had spent over there before emigrating, as part of the 2 years residency and they told us, no, that he had to have been resident with a valid visa for 2 years before he could apply to sponsor us. Hope this helps.
