I R O N F E S T !

This weekend past, in Lithgow, NSW, was the Ironfest. If you didn't go, well you missed a bloody brilliant day or two out!
It goes over two days, and you can get a pass to both if you choose to.
I drove, and took my three children.
I wasn't in the mood to go out on Sunday - I was tired. Mr iPom's in the UK and I'm a single parent for two weeks, but we went anyway and was I glad we did.

Here are my photographs on Flickr for you to check out.

There was everything from jousting (with jousting champions from the UK, NZ, Australia), battle re-enactments with proper uniforms, guns and casualties

, medieval costume, medieval activities, street entertainers, bellydancing, great food, blacksmith demonstrations, live music, ice cream, and best of all, sun.

If you missed this, you absolutely HAVE to do it next year. Your kids will have an absolute blast and it's one of those memories they'll keep forever.

Brilliant day out for everyone.

PS - You'll notice my kids in there, swishing through masses and masses of dead leaves in Lithgow showground. When people say there's no Autumn in Australia, they're talking b*llocks.

Great pics iPom! and I agree about autumn, we went to the Dandenongs yesterday, lots of beautiful colours on the trees and the smell of wood burning fires everywhere!

Grrrr. I raced to this thread expecting to find details of a forthcoming tour by aging britsh rockers Iron Maiden!

There were some Heavy metal bands there too... and some very nice wrought iron stuff for people who predominantly wear amusing black t-shirts. You'd have enjoyed it.

Nice pics. Karma on it's way but please put an avatar back and other stuff - you look naked and it does nothing for me and I realise I have probably upped the pulse rate of several men but I don't care

Edit: need to spread first and I don't do that unless I know them very very very well.
