Default Does this mean IA completed? Andrew pls help.

Hi andrew-
Let me thank you for your valuable advises. I have a situation here...pls help me understand.

my time line:
Applied for PR in Feb 2005
AOR received in Mar 2005
Got letter from Buffalo that application to Detroit in Feb 2006
Today 10/27/2006 I recieved this famous "brown" letter from detroit. Here are the details.....The letter says....

"dear sir/madam
This refers to your application for PR in canada
----
We have now completed the intial assessment of your application and expect to finalize application without personal interview. While an interview doesnot appear necessary at this time, we reserve the right to call you an interview, should this became necessary at some future stage in processing.
---
this letter contains important information regarding continued processing of your application.

additional docs required:
1) birth certicate of my son 9 month old
2) current statement of funds
3) Other: If child is accompanying you to canada, please submit the processing fee as attached fee schedule. ( $135)

thats all
---------------------------------------------------------

My son was born Feb 2006 and I sent them the passport copies as requested that time. Now does this letter means that IA is completed for me and for wife and they are waiting for son details( birth certificate and processing fee?)

Andrew- please advise...

Thanks, gotiwada

IA is conditional as always and interview may still be required later. As for your son - you need to add him to application if he is not a Canadian (and seems from request that he is not). What about medicals? Did you receive medical forms? You all, including your son will have to complete them too.

At the time interview was waived your security check has been initialized and depending from many factors it may take anywhere from few months to well over a year to conclude.

Thanks Andrew for quick reply.

I did not receive any medical forms. In the document list they just checked against these 3 points only. My son was born was in India in Feb 2006 and they came to USA in august 2006(of course wife was here all these prior years..she just went out to India for few months before delivery).

I updated CIC my about family status change( son born) in Feb 2006, so asked me to send the PP copies of my son, which I did sent. Now came this letter.

So according to you, IA completed for me and wife, they are waiting now for son details...then we will medical forms...right? Proof of funds I send them already in Feb 2005 ..why again asking the same?

Thanks, gotiwada
