Hi,
We are hopefully moving back to UK ( maybe Cornwall) after many years in Melbourne. Kids coming with us are 11 and 12. Does anyone have advice on how Australian super is taxed in UK. I am 61 and OH 50. I have my own superfund. The problem seems to be in OZ ,contributions are taxed on entry to pension scheme at 15% and no tax on the money at retirement. But in UK, there is no tax on entry but tax at standard tax rates when you draw on that pension. Does anyone still have an Australian superfund and retired in UK .? also any advice on setting up again in UK?

Just bumping this for you as it is something I am struggling to get my head around too.

At the moment all our finances are still in Australia and for this tax year we have a tax advisor doing the return. I dont know what is going to happen next financial year and have been sort of burying my head in the sand waiting for a lightbulb moment. I have had all sorts of conflicting advice and just need to bite the bullet and find out.

Our circs are a bit different - we havent set up home here as we are living with my parents who are needing care in their home for the forseeable future (I'm hoping they will become centenarians!).

Best move I have made though! The DH is an Aussie (now also Pom) who is doing his best to be here and seems to be enjoying it but he sees his dotage in Australia eventually although if the garden continues to grow well he may change his mind LOL.
