No, it must be done by one of the panel doctors authorised by DIBP.

WHVs do not usually require medicals.

Does it matter which country? I am residing in EU but will be travelling to Singapore soon. Thanks.

I have just had a medical at Spire Health Clinic in Manchester along with my partner. They offered a 10% discount on the second person, so we paid £350 for one and £315 for the second (this was for a healthcare worker medical). We live in Newcastle so had the option between Edinburgh or Manchester so this worked out a lot cheaper.

Manchester clinics I could see as they are from a few years ago.
I will share with everyone: The link to Medmigration now goes to Optical Express, haha so I googled "Medmigration clinic, Manc" and found a different site.
https://www.nuffieldhealth.com/hospi...medical-clinic

The site is really clear, the prices are listed.
Medicals for nurses = £375
For adults = £300
Other prices are listed also but I would recommend you have a look at the site. Just to be sure.

Hi i am new here but have been reading alot on the forums and thought this might help. We are hoping to start our application at the start of next year, or before if we can save up enough.
We are in Scotland and looking at where we could do the medicals.
We contacted the Edinburgh hospital that was listed here but they no longer do this. They gave me the contact details for this place, still in edinburgh
Australian Visa Medical Service
I emailed them and they sent me this : Hope it helps !!

Thank you for your enquiry

Our facility here at The Edinburgh Clinic provides medicals, on behalf of the Australian Government: Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), for all clients wishing to obtain a Visa to Australian.

The request for the medicals to be done comes directly from DIAC, either on the online system or via an agent/case officer. It is DIAC that dictates what medical examinations each applicant is to have to meet their visa requirement. We cannot act in an advisory capacity and all quires regarding suspected health requirement should be directed back to DIAC. Our role is simply to collect medical information on their behalf.

Your medical questionnaire and examination results are forwarded to the DIAC doctors in Sydney, once the medical has been completed by us. It is them that make a decision about your visa eligibility. We never receive feedback at our clinic regarding which clients are granted visas (or not) based on the medical information that we supply.

Please note, you must have lodged a visa application before you book and complete your health examination. The only exception to the rule is if you intend to apply for:
· Subclass 856 (Employer Nomination Scheme)
· Subclass 857 (Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme)
· clients who have been advised they are ‘Front end loading’ their Subclass 457 (Business Long Stay)
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) will be able to advice you if you are one of these applicants, in which case you may be eligible to complete your medical in advance of formally lodging your visa application.

When you make a Visa application, you will be provided with a Reference number relating to your medical requirement:
· For online applications, this is known as a TRN (Transaction Reference Number) or a HAP ID
· For paper applications, you will receive a letter called a Health Examinations List. This contains a number known as a HAP ID or HEALTH REQUEST ID (HRI)
We will require one of these references at time of booking.

When attending for your medical, you must bring the following:
· A valid passport - without a passport we will be unable to perform your medical examination.
· For paper applications, bring Forms 26 and 160 (please note, you must complete these forms in advance of your appointment)

Some applicants will still require to bring in passport photos. The administrator will advise you when making the appointment if you are one of these applicants.

You will also need to bring with you:
Any prescription glasses or contact lenses that you wear
Old chest x-ray, and any existing medical specialist medical reports, particularly if you have a known medical condition
Details of any prescription medicines you are currently taking (including drug name and dosage)

Ladies, please note that you should not attend if you are menstruating.

Our clinics run (Mon –Fri) and appointments will last approximately an hour per person. The waiting time for appointments is approximately 2 working days.

If you have been advised that you just require an x-ray only the cost will be £110. X-ray only appointment can be done within a couple of days, and can be done: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm.

Payments for all medicals are taken on the day, and we accept cash or card for these:

Adult medical, ages 15 +, £303 (this includes the medical, x-ray and HIV blood test)
Child medical, ages 11 – 14, £204 (this includes the medical and x-ray)
Child medical, ages 0 – 10, £100
Hep B and C blood test are charged at £40.50 each.

To make an appointment please phone us on 0131 446 2570. Please ensure that you have your reference numbers to hand.

When phoning, if we are in clinic or on another call you will be transferred to our voicemail system. Please leave us a message, so that we can put you on the list of clients to phone back, and we will endeavour to get back to you within 24 working hours. We are experiencing very high volumes of enquires at present and we appreciate your patience at this time. We also ask that you do not leave repeated messages if possible
