Default Electricity Prices Coming Down!

Really! As from July 1, Tariff 11 (standard rate) is coming down.
But there's a catch!
There will be a "block" system. So, it's only cheap for the first 13.7 kw you use a day. The next block of 13.7 are higher and any you use over 27.4 a day are hugely expensive!
http://www.qca.org.au/files/ER-QCA-N...ftDec-0312.pdf
See page 107 if you have nothing better to do.
I use 32 kw/day on average so I am screwed!
This is only a draft proposal but I have been lead to believe it will be put into place July 1.You will be able to opt for the "timed" tariff where you pay less for electricity used 10pm - 7 am but tons more for 4pm - 8pm!
Tariffs 31 & 33 are both going up buy over 25%.

Where's the nearest candle shop?

Well, two points:
1) This is queensland, nothing to say it will be general

2) You use 32kWh a DAY !!! What, do you have an aluminium smelter in the garage? I work from home and my average usage per day is 10kWh. How do you blow through that much, and can't you look at your usage to cut it? Lots?
Oh, and don't you have the very generous solar PV tariff in qld ?

Have solar PV and water giving me some respite from my $1,000 qtrly bills (save around $400 with a 3Kw system). Spa and pool are biggest culprits. About to put them on tariff 31. In the process of swapping all 45 halogen down lights to LED. A/c rarely used.

So its 32kWh after a 3kWh solar PV & solar HW? That would put it into the 40-50kWh region before.

I'd love to know where those tens of kWh are going - unless you have a 'herb' cultivation sideline?
