US car insurance for new UK expats

Re: US car insurance for new UK expats
Believe it or not, insurance rates are also linked very closely to credit ratings! A new immigrant or even PR will have little or no credit (or known driving history), which will vastly impact rates.
An Audi Q5 is also in a high bracket as it's a luxury import.

Re: US car insurance for new UK expats
I am currently in the UK, going back to the states soon. I previously lived in PA for a while and I think my and my USC wife were fairly fortunate at the time (2008/2009). My wife was paying $1100 per year insurance with Amica, once I arrived, I asked to go on the insurance, using my International license with UK license, Amica actually knocked $100 off the year cost, then when I got a US license they took another $100 off. I don't know how they are all being now with immigrants etc, but my past experience with them has encouraged me to consider them again for when I go to TX soon.
