Abu Dhabi - Recently arrived UK Expat in need of flatshare
Hi,
You've probably all read numerous threads like the one I'm about to write, but here goes anyway ... ... ...
I arrived in Abu Dhabi last Monday and am slowly finding my feet! I am currently being put up in a nice hotel by my company for the first 4 weeks, and after that I will be required to provide my own accomodation.
Initially, I came out with the idea of renting a one bedroom apartment, but following numerous drunken conversations with fellow expats over the past week I've realised that this is not very likely! Therefore, I'm planning to rent a room in a decent apartment, if I can find one???!!!:curse:
If anyone has a spare room, or knows of any, could you please let me know. I'm a 27 year old male, socialbe, tidy, into all sports (also looking to join Abu Dhabi RFC), and am willing to do the washing up!
What little research I have done, has narrowed down areas that I'd like to live to Khalidiyah and TCA, but if anyone knows of any other decent areas could you please advise me. Basically, I'd like to live within close proximity to the city centre, but also be close to the decent roads that run out of the city to make commuting to an out-of-town construction site easier i.e. Al Kahleej Al Arabi Rd (Coast road) & Al Salam Rd (Eastern ring road).
Any help would be appreiated during this stressfull next few weeks!!!
And I promise there'll be many beers on offer to anyone that can assist me in a successful search!!!!
Cheers,
Chris

Maximium budget is around 7000 AED per month including bills. Ideally do not want to spend anywhere near that much, so I can spend the rest on socialising!!!
I obviously want to live in a decent area and have decent facilities, but I'm willing to compramise if the price is right!

Cograts, Welshbloke. There is a meet-up planned in Abu Dhabi on 22 Feb (see post in sandpit) - you're welcome to come along...
