Re: Are there any young people in Doha?
been in doha for 5 years, i was 24 and my gf 19 when we came and loved every minute. off to UAE now but still plenty to do if your willing to go out and find it. Young teachers crowd is probably 2-3 times larger now than it was 5 years ago and they probably make up 60-80% of the young western ex-pats <30 years old in bars each night !

I have to smile at those who think they are coming to another version of Ayia Napa or Copacabana. Come to UAE, Qatar or KJSA for the money, not the lifestyle !

If you want to run, just search for Doha Bay Running Club, they are very big
They had six runners solo Wadi Bih last week.

Aspire is 200QR/month for the classes and use of the gym i believe. to run round the parks, tracks or grounds its free, just rock up and set off

Was not replying to you. One thing you will find out here is that socialising in the main revolves around alcohol. Which is fine if you like a good drink. You tend to meet a lot of long in the tooth expats out here whose main focus in life seems to be to drink to excess whenever they can. Pretty sad.
Reminds me of the old adage about people out here failing into one of the five expat types, drunk, skunk, monk, chunk or hunk. Drunk and chunk seem to be the most popular choices by far.

Where to go to meet young people in Doha
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody could advise me. I'm 18 and I moved here to Doha in June of this year after completing my A levels back in the UK. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and I quite like the way of life out here but I haven't really met many people that are near enough the same age as me so I haven't been able to make many friends just yet. I have asked around but nobody can seem to tell me where the decent places are to meet people. I have asked my neighbours but they all appear to be families whose children have made friends with people through school so I haven't really been able to get much information from them.
So far I haven't been out much because I have been catching up with my family again (they came to Doha last year but because I was in the middle of my A -levels, I had to stay behind till I had finished college so I have only just moved back in with them again and I wanted to take the time to have a proper catch up with them first). However, now that my family life is back to normal and I have settled in a little bit, I would really like to take the to meet some new people and make some friends.
I would be very grateful if any of you could advise me

I assume you have facebook? Loads of pages on there with events in Doha that may be of interest.
I know a few people that are 20/21 here - but generally they go to bars now, I don't know of anyone or friends with children that are 17/20 as most are I assume at uni.

Your one big problem is that you are under 21 and according to my daughter that is a major pain as all the best things require an ID.
