EMPLOYER SPONSORSHIP
Wanting to relocate to Australia, only we dont have enough points, we had 55 and you need 65 for a Skilled Visa. So another way into Australia is with an Employer Sponsor Visa. So we are looking for exactly that. Can anyone help. My husband is a CNC Machinist, Supply Specialist, NDT Technician, has a Forklift Cert and is a First aider, all his experience was gained working for Roll Royce Aero-engines PLc for 25 years. We are willing to relocate to any part of Australia, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Does anyone know of any sponsorship Employers with any vacancies.

Hi, with that experience you may want to contact GE Oil & Gas (Vetco Gray). They always want staff from me with Rolls-Royce experience. Not sure if they'll sponsor, but worth a try. They're based in Jandakot, just outside Perth.
Also, bear in mind that from 1 July 2012, in order to apply for a General Skilled Migration (GSM) visa you will need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and be invited to apply : http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skill...-whats-new.htm
Good luck.

Yes we have applied to GE, awaiting a reply. Our initial visa, we went through an agent and they told us Employer Sponsor was the next best one, but no have not looked at IELTS for extra points. How do you get points from this, if you are British and competant in English.

I know they are english tests, the agent gave us maximum points for our English and did not mention taking these tests to get any more points. When i calculated i got the same amount of points. Some employers I have looked at say if you have 5+ years of secondary education and are competant in english you dont have to take these tests. GE stands for General Electric and is a big concern in Australia and around the world. Suprised you have not heard of them. Where in oz are you ? we are willing to go anywhere.

Also I would question ANY agent that hasn't mentioned taking the IELTs for extra points.

You won't get any points for competent English (i.e. relying on your passport).

If your looking at 55 points without IELTS, you need a score of 7 in each band for 10 points. You're obviously a native speaker so you should be fine.

Well.... no i have not thought of state sponsorship, until Dorothy mentioned it, as the agent did not do so. Might try another agent, you go with one thinking they know best, but with the remarks on here i am having second thoughts.

We already had an aunt sponsor, so state comes out with the same points 55.
