Default Immigrant Visa (DCF: I-130 Filed in London) - Timeline Only!

Continued from previous thread here: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...19495&page=101

The original thread above was created a year ago, so I have closed it and started this continuation. It doesn't do much good to read timelines from a year ago.

Also, please keep this thread for sharing timelines ONLY. If you have a specific question regarding any procedure, forms, medical, interview, etc. please create a NEW thread with your specific question, as it relates to your own case. Those kinds of questions get lost in timeline threads, and takes it way off topic.

Thank you,
Rene

Finally after nearly a month, USCIS have updated the website..

Doesn't appear that the olympics have slowed the I-130 process down any yet.. http://london.usembassy.gov/dhs/uscis/i130filing.html

We were on the same track as you but were unlucky to fall a week behind - and every day is going to count if I am going to get my son into school on time! Please post your progress - I am watching like a hawk!

Visa arrived this morning! So my timeline is:

14th Jan 2012 - London Embassy Received i-130
19th Jan - i-130 officially filed
20th Jan - Payment taken for i-130
29th Jan - Police cert. app. sent off
30th Jan - e-notification received for i-130
7th Feb - Police certificate received
April 19th - i-130 approved
May 3rd - i-130 approval letter received/(sent) after emailing USCIS (no code needed)
May 15th - Called number (for around 4th time) for case number and was given email and code to email on May 19th (four weeks after approval)
May 22nd - No email reply received yet so called number AGAIN, was finally given case number (30 minutes later receiving the reply to my email with said case number). Booked medical for 29th May
May 23rd - Sent off application and docs ready form by special delivery (and received case number in the post) with cover letter asking for it to be expedited due to job starting August 6th (not sure if this had any effect but intervew letter did come very quickly)
May 29th - Medical at Bentick Mantions site
June 2nd - Letter with interview date arrived
July 6th - Interview at London Embassy, approved
July 12th - Received visa and sealed envelope by DX delivery

July 28th - Travel to Chicago via POE Dublin (will post experience of this afterwards)

Thanks for the very thorough time line... it will no doubt be very handy in the future.

Please do post about your experience going through Dublin, as this is the way we plan on doing it as well, so very keen to read about a more recent experience.
