Fireworks Party
Another reason to be cheerful: we had a fireworks party with our neighbours last Saturday, built a bonfire and everyone brought a few fireworks.
People brought burgers and sausages, which I barbequed on my Aussie beast of a BBQ, we supplied the baked spuds, others brought soup and parkin.
Beer from my work allowance (after the fireworks!) and a great time was had by all. We've decided to make it a local tradition.
Bonfire night is certainly an integral part of the British experience as far as I am concerned.
Any others out there who like to burn stuff and set fire to small, coloured explosives?

Re: Fireworks Party
We had a brilliant time. There was a hog roast at the local pub but as we don't eat meat, we couldn't face watching the corpse spin round over the flames. Then we realized it didn't matter because they were setting all the fireworks up in the fields opposite our house. So we just walked to the end of the drive and stood there with a glass of wine watching a fantastic firework display for free. It lasted about 20 minutes and surprised me with how good it was.
