Hubby usually puts them in a lake several miles away...this time he just put it down the bottom of the garden...so it will be back in the pool before long.

LOL, we had a colony of bats living in our house back in Scotland. After we got over the initial surprise, it was lovely having them. The bat rescue people came out to give us some advice. There were about 250 bats living in our gable wall. They were quiet, didn't smell and ate the midgies!

When my husband finds a possum in our backyard, he takes it to a nearby park. (Not sure why now I come to think about it.) Imagine picking up a possum. Ewwwwww!

I would have a nervous breakdown. Yes, I do appreciate the fact that they consume vast quantities of mosquitoes (another hated creature of mine), but did you know a bat can enter your house through a hole as small as a dime? If they get into the attic and start breeding, the smell of ammonia will be horrendous.

Found three this weekend. 2 babies and one one big one. All under rocks / brush I was clearing.

All non-poisionous, just showed them them the other side of the yard wall. None in the house or scorp's so far.

Urgh, no snakes yet, thank goodness. Had a couple of scorpions in the house, which were soon dispatched with a shoe. We go out hunting the scorps in the yard with a blacklight most nights; we started out a few weeks ago getting 12-15 a night, but are now down to 1-2 so hopefully that'll keep the house clear of them.

Found this guy under my car on Tuesday night. He/She had obviously enjoyed a good meal or two recently as evidenced by the bulges in the middle. Just lay around a while and then slithered off into it's lair aka our big clump of pampas grass at the entrance to the driveway.

Oh my, I'd have fainted on the spot if I'd have seen that!

Lol, I don't mind them in the yard it's the couple of scorpions that I've found in my kitchen blending perfectly with the color of the floor tiles that freaked me out a bit. I always wear flip flops around the house now

It's really uncommon to find them in houses right? (checking under bed) and they definately wouldn't come in a house with a dog (checking under vanity unit)......

I would freak if I saw a scorpion in my house. As I live in NYC, it's unlikely, I know.

Does anyone know much about scorpions? I mean, are they fine unless you disturb them and then they bite? Is that the story? Is their bite fatal?
