Default A California resident wanting a mortgage for a second home in London.

I told a friend I would look into this for her as she knows I spend a lot of time on here

She is a British woman dual UK/US citizen who has been working here for about 10 years. Good job with a pharma company. Co-owns a property here with a mortgage.

She would like to buy a place in London jointly with her sister.

The question is whether anyone has any experience of using US income to get a UK mortgage.

Any pointers welcome.

Yes. Cheltenham & Glocs do 75% loan, Lloyds 70%. Pretty good interest rates too. Fees can be quite high though

Just the standard 'Buy to Let' If the sister is going to be living there though they might be able to get a normal mortgage.

Oh right, yes sorry, the sister is still over there and is going to be living in it.

I think the situation is that the sister doesn't earn enough to buy it on her own.
