Any tips on how a Senior Quantity Surveyor can get a move to California?
I have found some old threads on chartered QSs working in the US from 2010 but was hoping that someone might have up to date information on which companies might be hiring? On how to go about finding a post? A general trawl of the net hasn't thrown anything up
Many thanks

Each case will be specific to that person, so might not be a great help, you do need to read the Wiki and Pulaski's ways to find out whether QS is still on the list.

Personally, I'd be surprised if any company would be willing to spend thousands of dollars and wait ages for a QS, but could well be wrong.
OP, presumably you'd plan on going over on a H1-B (unless your current company can transfer you?) you're aware that the earliest you could start work would be Oct 2015 as the 2014 cap has been met? So if there is a chance of getting a company to submit an application for you in April next year, you've got plenty of time.
Best of luck.

Job title could also be listed as Cost Manager / estimator.
Thanks in advance to anyone with experience of this profession in the US
Mikelincs having trouble finding a list of professions that qualify on wiki & Pulaskis or on a standard 'ask google' etc

Thanks christmasoompa, taken all your advice on board!
Also messaged the original QS's that posted a few years back.
Thanks jerseygirl, I've read the pulaskis info.

The US doesn't have a 'list' Mike, are you thinking of Canada or Oz maybe?

It will be very difficult unfortunately.
My wife is a Qs and we moved to the US 4 years ago for my work. QS does not really appear to be prevalent in the US except:
New York
LA and San Fran
Texas (O&G)
