With dental our plan through Anthem, we paid
80% year 1
50% year 2
25% year 3
Piss all after that unless it was cosmetic.

hi there, been a while since I last posted, but I am almost sorted with my negotiations...currently just waiting for confirmation of guarantor...
Just a quick one, is there a list of documentation requirements for an L1 visa anywhere i've tried looking on here and on the immigration website but can't seem to see anything and want to try and get things in place (like degree certs) etc.

Depending on your job will determine what documents are required for the L1 application.
From the top of my head these are some of the things I/the company/the lawyers had to provide when I moved: degree certificates, birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, job contract, letter of employment, resume, full job description of current job, job description of new position, company details etc etc.

You company lawyers (if they are any good) should be handling this for you and asking you to provide the necessary documentation.

Looks like we are in a similar place as you. My wife is moving on an L1 and I will be on an L2 - and we are just awaiting the full details of the relocation package/US benefits.
Trying to work out where we want to live is proving difficult - think we have narrowed it down to Murray Hill - but you keep seeing the same pictures on so many adverts you start to wonder do any of these places actually exist.
Also still confused about what we need to rent. Assuming my wifes company will act as guarantor - and we will be staying withing the 40x so that is a good start - but we cannot provide landlord refernces (havent had a landlord in the UK for almost 10 years as we own our own place) and US tax returns (as we wont have any). DO these things matter when it comes down to it - or will we end up struggling?

When we were looking around in Murray Hill we looked at a few different buildings around here. I would have rather gone direct as the realtor fee is a good chunk of change (15%/6 weeks rent), but we had no credit history here.
http://www.manhattanskyline.com/ Looked at Habitat NYC and The Murray Hill. 1 bed seemed to be in $2800 range.
http://www.ogdencapproperties.com/ Looked at Windsor Court and Biltmore Plaza. We live next to Biltmore - Both really nice buildings with doorman and rooftop gyms/pool.
http://www.stonehengenyc.com (expensive, but has fios!)

Vicious B....please keep me in the loop with how your move goes. I will be going through the same package negotiations as you have been through over the next month or so, and clearly will then start to scope out potential areas in manhattan to live. hope all goes well with the move!
