Melbourne or Perth for Maths Teacher
Just applied for our skilled independent visa 189 yesterday but are undecided on Perth or Melbourne. My wife is a Secondary school Maths teacher and were wondering if any teachers out there have any advice.
Thanks

I wouldn't have thought that either city would have a particularly greater need for maths teachers than the other. Children and schools in both locations. What about your occupation, have you researched opportunities?
If there is no particularly industry pull for you, then you are in the fortunate position of being able to make your decision on non work related factors.

If you're into your outdoors lifestyle, I would go for Perth. If you want a less isolated place, go fro Melbourne..

Main thing I would be checking is teachers used to be required to do 'country service" unless they could get the highly coveted private jobs. County in WA could be slightly further from Perth than desired, like 20 hours further Might be different now but Country victoria might sometimes be bogan but hell it would be preferable to outback WA.
But then Outback WA might appeal to some, just dont confuse autsralian 'country' with rose thatched cottages......

It's very rare in Melbourne that we can't do an outdoors activity that we have planned, and cancellations have been more often due to extreme heat than cold or wet.
