I pay slightly more than the average in BC but I do drive a F150 fully comp.

The thing that pisses me of about ICBC is for the last 3 years they have made huge profits yet they keep increasing premiums, it's just another big government tax.

Are those numbers full coverage or liability only?

Seems light. We pay circa $1900 for two leased new vehicles - an Escape and a F150. We have shopped around and don't seem to be able to do any better here at least.

Insurance on a leased vehicle is higher than on one you own. Not sure how much higher but i discovered that when I was reading up on 'buy Vs lease' pros and cons.

Is the $2100 for insurance or the fine for driving a visually offensive vehicle !
My premium for the Avalanche and the Sorento was $1250 each, that's with 9 credits. Oh for the days of confused.com!

Yes, but not more than 10% or so. Our costs are significantly more than the average costs Iain posts. We have clean driving records for the past 9 years with no claims.

My quote is pretty accurate. It is an 'average' quote so there is going to be higher and lower. I go through a broker and am insured through Aviva. They were the only company who gave us a decent quote based on UK driving experience when we first landed.

I don't think this is true, certainly the system I know well doesn't use own vs. lease as a rating criterion. It may be that the lease requires that a certain level of insurance be in force; collision, theft and so on whereas, if you own the car outright, you can reduce the coverage to liability only. However, most people do not own their cars and, if it's financed, much the same requirements apply as for the lease.

We pay 200 less then the average listed for BC, we just renewed and its 1,100 for the year.

$3000 for a 2011 Sienna in BC; because my nasty UK insurance company never responded to my requests for the properly worded letter to get my no claims/clean history recognised.

I just got dinged $2300 for insurance on a new Genesis (with commuting). After 40% 'no claims' discount for UK history letters!
