Surely Nova Scotia isn't that cheap! Aren't we supposed to be living in the most expensive place in Canada, if not the world

If the govt mandates that you have insurance it should be the ones providing it.

If I remember correctly, our ancient Buick is about $700 a year, our not-so-ancient Civic is about $1100, and the WRX I'm thinking of buying is around $1500, so the SK numbers seem OK.

Though, given how badly most people drive here, I'm surprised to see the average is so low. At least no-one's crashed into us this year.

Finally getting to use mine after a lovely Mr Lee hit me like a missile from behind on Tuesday evening. His car is pretty much a right off and my old Corolla has a few scratches on the bumper. I truly hate driving in Vancouver which is shame seeing as its my job.

Average of what?

All inclusive? Third party? Taking into account the various insurance policies included with various provincial driver licences?

. . .

Very close to what I pay. My premium for my 2010 Ford Escape is $776. It was much the same cost when I bought the vehicle when it was 6 months old.
