It's definitely not part of what is known as "continental Europe",
it's part of Scandinavian Europe.
Have a look at Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_Europe
"The British concept
In the British mind Continental Europe is foremost represented by the
Benelux, Germany, Spain, Italy and especially France. A famous
(perhaps apocryphal) British newspaper headline once read "Fog in
Channel; Continent Cut Off".
The Nordic concept
In Nordic usage, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Iceland and
Finland are excluded."

Scandinavia (apart from Iceland) was physically attached to Europe last time

This is simply not true. We in the Nordic and Scandinavia aren't used to
exclude anything of the mentioned from Europe.
Whenever was Wikipedia considered as the final truth ?

What is Europe again
Why in the world would Continental Europe not include countries in
Europe that you can drive between by land. Now, I will admit it is a
bit round about to go from Jutland to Norway by land but the path does
exist. Now Denmark is Scandinavian & has lots of islands so maybe it
should be excluded but not Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

But we aren't dividing Europe that way in the Nordic.
Talking about "Continental Europe" is for Englishmen mainly.

Englishmen only use Continental Europe to distinguish it from the
