Default TWP extension by flagpoling

Our friend who is here on a TWP just managed to renew his TWP at the Maine/NB border at St Stephen. Apparently he was told by his boss to take the LMO and the letter offering further employment and 'flagpole'. He took the full application with him just in case it was needed, but it wasn't.

He was asked why he hadn't applied to Vegreville for the extension, and told them his boss had told him to do it this way. He was granted another one year TWP and told he could come back next time to renew.

After all the hassle we went through back in May waiting weeks for the extension of our TWP to come through while on implied status. We didn't even consider doing what our friend did. It just shows that doing it the right way isn't always the best plan!

Default Re: TWP extension by flagpoling

Both ways are correct but one is quicker than the other. In this case an LMO was required so you have the choice of extending via CPC Vegreville or flagpoling.
